Personal Statement
Hello, I'm Victoria Kim, a 20 years old junior student majoring in Information and Interaction Design. I was born and raised in Uzbekistan, Tashkent city.
Growing up I was always academically driven, dreaming of becoming a teacher or relating my life with medical field. However, towards the end of high school I came to realize that apart from studying, activities that brought me the most joy and energy were always creative. I enjoyed drawing, photography, filming and editing but never considered it as a career before. So applying for a creative major was definitely more of a last minute decision, which I do not regret.

I've enrolled in this class to deepen my understanding of interaction design since it is such a major part of almost every design discipline. Ultimately, I hope that this class will give me a solid foundation in interaction design, so that I can apply these principles to real-world scenarios and contribute to the development of user-friendly and engaging products in the future.

Talking about the things I like, I'm passionate about drawing, especially people, animals, and nature. Drawing serves as a means of emotional and creative expression for me. From now on, I hope to focus more on using my drawing skills for creation of illustrations.
In my free time, I also enjoy taking photos, listening to podcasts and watching YouTube videos about philosophy, health and other topics that peak my interest. Last but not least, I love dogs and this winter break I spent a lot of my time helping at the local dogs shelter in my hometown, taking care of the dogs who were picked up from the streets and managing the shelter's social media accounts.

Regarding my aspirations, while I prefer to keep specific dreams and goals private, my overarching aim is to maintain a balanced life. I want to allocate enough time and energy to improve various aspects of my life, including health, relationships, and career. It's a challenging goal, but I'm committed to working towards it.
